Pay Dispute – Day of Action Monday 13th October 2014

Branch News Pay UNISON News

Dear UNISON Member,

By now you should have received a letter from UNISON confirming to you the outcome of the recent Industrial Action Ballot.

UNISON members voted in favour of strike action and action short of strike.

UNISON Health Service Group Executive met on 19th September 2014 to consider the result. They formally agreed to recommend strike action on Monday 13th October 2014 from 07.00 – 11.00.

This recommendation was accepted and confirmed by the National Industrial Action Committee.

London Ambulance UNISON Industrial Action Committee met on 25th September 2014 and agreed the following:

That I write formally calling all UNISON members to strike on Monday 13th October 2014 from 07.00 until 11.00.

The National Ambulance Sector has asked that members should not do any voluntary paid or unpaid overtime between 14th & 17th October 2014 (this does not include late jobs).

We will be meeting with Senior Management soon to discuss requests for exemptions and we also hope to agree a sensible ‘Life and Limb’ emergency cover policy.

Our action is not directly against the London Ambulance Service and we will do our best to protect the people of London and our Service.

However, this is a serious call to action and I hope as many members as possible will support it.

We need to send a message to the government that we all deserve better and fairer pay.

More information will be sent out soon.
