I am pleased to announce that the branch has been able to offer a replacement to the book grant that used to be offered by UNISON.
We are now offering our members grants of up to £50 to purchase books in connection with Paramedic, Trade Union and Higher Education courses. All you need to do is fill in the application form and send it to me (Mark Belkin) at Friern Barnet Ambulance Station.
The branch has also agreed that from January 2018 we will now offer new members to claim up to £100 in their first year of membership. This is to assist new members of staff who have just joined the ambulance service and are more likely to need to purchase books to assist with studies.
*NEW for 2019 – We have extended the scheme to also cover educational courses and seminars.
Please ensure you obtain an itemised receipt and send this with your application as claims will not be valid unless accompanied with a valid receipt. Grants may be available for other courses but you should check with us before making any purchase.
