Update to negotiated lump sum for EMT’s

You may recall back in January 2019 the LAS management agreed to pay a 1% lump sum to all EMTs in compensation for EMTs belatedly moving to the top of Band 5.

EMTs would have received this lump sum through the UNISON negotiated pay agreement if they had been allowed to move through the full Band 5 pay points at an earlier time after the gateway points had been removed from NHS pay bands in 2013 and we successfully campaigned to the LAS management negotiating this payment.

We are today (24/09/20) informed that LAS EMT’s have finally received this payment in this month’s pay.

We have been frustrated to not have secured the payment sooner despite the agreement and continuous campaigning for it to be paid by our Branch. Nevertheless it is great for our EMT members to finally receive this and we will now continue the national UNISON pay campaign for all NHS workers details of which are available here:
