LAS UNISON MEMBERS RECEIVE EXTRA PAY FOLLOWING UNISON VICTORY IN SUPREME COURT

Branch News Pay UNISON News

LAS UNISON are pleased to confirm that colleagues in the LAS will now be receiving extra pay from July, following a successful legal fight that ended in victory for UNISON in the Supreme Court earlier this year.

The Supreme Court found in the Employment Case ‘British Gas Trading Limited v Mr ZJ Lock (represented by UNISON)’, that anyone whose wages included an element of commission can no longer be paid less when they are on annual leave.

This ruling also applies to incidental overtime for Frontline A&E Staff and following the ruling, LAS UNISON requested that the service amend our pay accordingly. Following further discussions, the LAS have now included the extra pay which you should find in you pay packets this month.

We will now be asking if any other staff are affected by this ruling? i.e. EOC, PTS?
