Loss of a much loved member of LAS UNISON last week

Branch News

On Friday 29th May 2020 we lost another London Ambulance UNISON member and Romford Ambulance Station Emergency Medical Technician, Jamie Lamb after a short illness in hospital.

Jamie was a much loved member of Staff not only at Romford but across North East London, Jamie was approaching his 25th year in the LAS.

A larger than life character, that would never mince his words if he had something to say, but would also pay respect if earned.

Originally from Dagenham, he lived most of his life in around the same area.

Jamie’s musical tastes were so varied from 70/80’s soul, to British Punk Rock, a couple of his favourite songs were, Atlantic Starr (Circles) to Sham 69’s (If the kids are united)

A West Ham supporter, Jamie would often tell us stories on weekends away about home games standing on the famous “Chicken Run” watching the likes of Bobby Moore &Trevor Brooking.

Jamie’s kindness shined through and he would always be there if you needed any advice or help, nothing was too difficult for Jamie.

Jamie Married in 2019 to Suzanne and he never seemed happier, our love and thoughts are with all his family at this sad time.

This legend was never called Jamie by his close mates, but “Sid, Lambster or 2 Lamb bhunas”

We are going to miss you Lambster, even when you used to shout at the top of your voice “Come on you Irons” RIP mate.
