Join the UNISON team for the London Life Hike

LAS UNISON is sponsoring the London Ambulance Charity's London Life Hike, and we want as many of our members as possible to join the UNISON team. Family, friends and pets are welcome too.
The hike takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026. There are two self-guided routes through London: an accessible 6km walk and a longer 21km hike. Both start and finish at Southwark Park Bandstand.
Why we are supporting the hike
The branch has donated £7,500 to support the event. This means more of the money raised by walkers can go towards free CPR training and public-access defibrillators in the London neighbourhoods that need them most.
As London Ambulance Service staff, we know how much early action matters when someone has a cardiac arrest. Taking part will help more fathers, sisters, friends and neighbours survive. The London Heart Starters campaign plans to install 200 more defibrillators in unlocked cabinets across London and teach local people how to use them.
