Last week the Westminster government published their position for the 2025/26 pay round.
The key points are that 2.8% is set aside to cover pay spending, that an interim minimum wage fix will be imposed on 1 April, and that – it seems – negotiations on the NHS pay structure have been kicked to next year.

We are seeking urgent clarification on what all this means, including how the minimum wage rise on 1 April will be dealt with in the NHS, and the HSGE will hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss.
