In September UNISON, along with the other NHS trade unions, submitted a claim for a pay award that matches inflation plus an extra £800 for all staff.
We also asked the government for extra funding so we can change the NHS pay system to make it better and fairer.
As a result we are now in detailed talks with employers and government. So we thought this would be the perfect time to ask for your views about our pay claim and how you think you might be able to help us get the pay you deserve.

We are continuing to negotiate with Government and employers on a range of issues including ending low pay, improving starting salaries, removing overlaps between pay bands and making it quicker for you to get to the top of your band.
These talks are ongoing and complex and we still have some way to go until we know if they will succeed. If they do, we will seek your views on the outcome of the talks before anything is agreed.
In the meantime, we want to be clear about how you feel as this will help us in ongoing negotiations.
