Joint Trade Union Survey on Tetra Airwave Equipment

UNISON News

Dear Colleague

A number of members working within the Ambulance and Police sector have raised concerns about the health effects of using the Tetra Airwave system.

We are aware and supportive of the long term health surveillance that is being carried out by Imperial College and we look forward to seeing the results of this in due course.
However, to help us to identify the level and extent of the concerns that have been raised and to help in any discussions we have with employers, we have worked with the Police Federation, PCS, GMB and Unite to develop and carry out a survey of those members who use the equipment.
This survey does not replace the work being carried out by Imperial College, but is simply a way for UNISON to assess the level of concerns that members who use the system may have.

A copy of the survey is available to download below and I would be very grateful if you could complete and return it to k.fairclough@unison.co.uk by 16th April 2010 at the latest.

Alternatively, it can be posted to the following address:

Yours sincerely

Ms Hope Daley
Head of Health and Safety
